Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, a gifted singer from Nigeria better known as Ayra Starr in the entertainment industry, has stated that she has always known that music will have a significant impact on and change her life.
She disclosed this in a recent bmission she made to Spotify, where she stated the following:
I’ve known since I was a young child that music would one day completely transform my life. I always knew I wanted to be a musician as a child.
I had no idea when or how it would occur, but I was certain that it would.
I used to dispute with church choir members even when I was approximately six or seven years old if they said I couldn’t be the main vocalist.
I used to tell them that when I became a superstar, they would not be able to tell me that.”
The musician gained mainstream recognition with her eponymous debut extended play in 2021 and its hit single “Away,” which spent two consecutive weeks at number four on Nigeria’s
TurnTable Top 50 and went to number 17 on US Billboard Top Triller Global, paving the way for the August 2021 release of her first full-length studio album, 19 & Dangerous.
